Edit Override

The options presented when you click on an override in the Schedules view are confusing and unhelpful.

The biggest thing missing is the ability to edit the override. The option to “Schedule an Override” is confusing since I’m already looking at an override, and having to add a new one and delete the old one was also not intuitive.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for reaching out! Can you clarify which Schedules menu you’re in?

Are you in the “My On-Call Shifts” menu or the general Schedules menu, or are you looking at a specific menu?

Let us know!

Nick

I’m in People -> On-Call Schedules.

The detail popup to which I refer appears in both this page, and in the detail view for an individual schedule.

Hello Justin W,

Many thanks for your feedback. The issue has been raised as a feature request with the Product Team to consider.

Regards,

This is actually a bigger deal than the post indicates, and because you can’t edit an override, and because there is no ability to create an override that is in the past, there isn’t a way to really even change an override once its started without losing the history.

So to repeat if you need to edit an override once its started, you lose the past history of who took on-call when for that override period. If someone comes back from vacation a couple days early, you have a choice to keep the history of who volunteered to take the on call for that person, or keep the person who took on call for that person on call to not lose the history. That’s not fair.

I’d like to vote to bump the priority higher on the ability to edit an override schedule.
